Customer Service Representative - Hinesville

JOB SUMMARY: CSRs are responsible for providing exceptional customer service, having knowledge of members’ accounts, and accurately processing account payments.  This position will mainly report to our Hinesville Office but will be required to cover our Reidsville and Pembroke offices when needed. 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:                   

Reports To: Branch Supervisor

REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES:

Valid Georgia Driver’s License

                High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of cashier/customer service experience required. 

TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, and tact and diplomacy in dealing with both members and employees

  • Mathematical skills

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy

  • Competence with computers, telephones, 10 key calculators and other office machinery

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain an adequate cash drawer at all times; this includes making sure cash and checks are in balance and member payments are accurately processed. 

  2. Answer customer inquiries and refer customers to the proper service area for issues that cannot be resolved by the cashier.

  3. Ensure excellent customer relations by promptly and accurately handling telephone inquiries. 

  4. Maintain the office cash sheet to accurately document accounting transactions.

  5. Process mail in deposits.

  6. Explain bill calculations and have working knowledge of the CEMC billing rates.

  7. Become knowledgeable of procedures for setting up new memberships, connects and disconnects, along with the deposit requirements. 

  8. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with all information obtained. 

  9. Assist in outage emergencies as needed.

  10. Participate in Annual Meeting.

  11. Attend and complete all mandatory safety meetings. 

  12. Comply with all department and company policies, procedures and regulations.

  13. Subject to temporary assignment to various offices or locations. 

  14. All other job-related duties as assigned.
