Message from CEO Michael Wasson

As the new CEO of Canoochee EMC, I am honored to lead this cooperative into the future.

I am honored to introduce myself as your new Chief Executive Officer. I have been with Canoochee for over 20 years, most of that time as Chief Operating Officer.

I am grateful to my predecessors for building such a strong foundation of community involvement, customer service, and hard work. I specifically want to thank outgoing CEO Lou Ann Phillips for the example that she set.  She fulfilled the role of CEO with and unmatched level of integrity, hard work, and dedication to our community and the employees of Canoochee.

I plan to continue that legacy by supporting our employees as Canoochee continues to grow in the coming years.

I would also be remiss in not thanking Canoochee EMC’s Board of Directors in supporting me throughout my career. Canoochee’s Board is one of the most educated and capable of any Board in the state, and their support means a great deal to me.

As you know, our territory is growing. We are experiencing unprecedented growth throughout our region, and I am confident that we are up to the challenge. We were ready to tackle the challenges of serving the military 20 years ago, and we will be ready to handle the challenges associated with the rapid growth in North Bryan County.

I am proud to serve you, our members, as we head into the future. Canoochee’s team of employees will continue to provide the exemplary service that you are used to, while still focusing on reliability and safety.

I hope you will join us for this year's Annual Meeting. This will be my first as CEO, and I would love to meet you all in person.
